May Half Term Reptile Encounter
May Half Term: Reptile Encounter at The Chester House Estate

Looking for a wild adventure this May half term? Step into the fascinating world of reptiles at The Chester House Estate!

Join us for an unforgettable Animal Encounter Experience, where children (and grown-ups too!) can get up close with an incredible collection of reptiles. From slithering snakes to curious lizards and colourful geckos, this is a hands-on opportunity to meet some truly amazing creatures.

What to expect:

  • Get up close and personal with a variety of reptiles
  • Touch and handle some of the animals (if you’re feeling brave!)
  • Learn fascinating facts from expert handlers
  • Discover how these incredible creatures live, eat, and survive in the wild

This interactive experience is perfect for curious minds and budding animal lovers. Whether your child is fascinated by wildlife or just loves trying something new, this is an exciting and educational day out for the whole family.

The live animals are proudly brought to us by Andrea's Animals, a fantastic local business who have undertaken a full risk assessment for this event, which can be viewed here.

General information:

• All participants should clean their hands prior to and following handling of all animals.

• The animals participating in our demonstrations are cared for in a loving home environment and this care is extended to our exhibitions.

• It is important all the animals, big and small, are given the opportunity to participate and be handled in a manner suitable to their species and temperament.

• Those people interacting with our animals will be briefed before handling on the proper way to interact with each animal on an individual basis.

• As many people do exhibit phobias of some of the animals we display, it may be advisable to inform those children, parents or other attendees of the animals likely to be present.

It is our intention to educate and encourage everyone to fall in love with our friendly animals and promote conservation. However, we are always mindful that many people feel a great deal of anxiety when faced with these animals. In order to avoid causing distress to anyone we would like everyone attending to be aware of the animals that are likely to be present.

All of our animals can be startled by sudden movements or loud noises. It is therefore important all participants are made aware prior to interaction of the impact they can have on the animals. On the day you may meet the following (subject to availability)

Snakes, Bearded Dragon, Hermann’s Tortoise, Crested Gecko, Giant Land Snails, Giant Hissing Cockroaches, Stick Insects, Giant Millipedes, African Pygmy Hedgehog & Tarantulas
