Archaeology Taster Days for Kids and Teens – Learn & Explore History
Are you aged between 8 and 18 and passionate about history, archaeology, and uncovering the past? Join professional archaeologists from Chester House Estate and the University of Leicester for a unique series of archaeology workshops for young people this August.
What to Expect at the Archaeology Taster Days
Hands-On Excavation Experience
Spend 90 minutes digging and recording in a real archaeological excavation area, guided by professional archaeologists.
Archaeological Finds Analysis
Take part in a 30-minute session at the Northamptonshire Archaeological Resource Centre to examine and analyse real archaeological finds.
Washing & Cleaning Finds
Help wash artifacts recovered during this year’s excavations and learn the importance of conservation.
Careers & Volunteering Insights
Engage with experienced professionals and volunteers to discover exciting career paths and volunteering opportunities in archaeology.

- Parking: Claudius Way is our main carpark please use the postcode (NN8 2DH) | Blue badge holders can park at Lime Avenue, please use the postcode (NN29 7EZ) NOTE: Please only use this car park if you have a VALID BLUE BADGE if you don’t you will be turned around at the gate.
