Open day for the ARC for visitors to come into the store to see the archaeological collections we have inside. Join us 10am until 4pm for all of this …
- We will be showing some highlights of the objects we store from all periods of history
- Opportunities to handle real archaeological objects
- Chance to wash real archaeological finds so that they are ready to archive
- An archive lottery where we will pull random boxes from the shelves for visitors to see
- Activities for children such as designing you own Roman pot
- Chance to ask our archaeological curators and volunteers any questions you may have about archaeology. We will try our best to answer them!
Recommended age 7+ though younger children are welcome.
Unfortunately no dogs (except guide dogs) are allowed inside the building due to the sensitivity of the collections.
