We are very grateful to our funders at the National Lottery Heritage Fund for their ongoing support and commitment to Chester House Estate as an important regional attraction with national significance.

The Chester House Estate is a £14.5m project funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund, North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire Council.

Anne Jenkins, Director of England, Midlands & East, for the National Lottery Heritage Fund: “We are delighted to support this project, which thanks to money raised by National Lottery players, will mean that more people will be able to get involved with, protect, and learn about the exciting heritage right on their doorstep.”

The restoration project itself was split into three phases:

Phase 1 - Archeological Archive Centre became operational in April 2021.

Phase 2 - Education Centre, Events Venue, Artisan Courtyard and Outside Catering becoming operational in July 2021.

Phase 3 - Restaurant, Bed and Breakfast, Outdoor Play Area and Museum becoming operational and the entire site which opened in October 2021.

We worked very closely with One to One Development Trust to create a documentary which features the 10 month build period. You can watch that documentary here.
