We are very grateful to our funders at the National Lottery Heritage Fund for their ongoing support and commitment to Chester House Estate as an important regional attraction with national significance.

The Chester House Estate is a £14.5m project funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund and Northamptonshire County Council and will be completed by the October Half Term period, 2021.

Anne Jenkins, Director of England, Midlands & East, for the National Lottery Heritage Fund: “We are delighted to support this project, which thanks to money raised by National Lottery players, will mean that more people will be able to get involved with, protect, and learn about the exciting heritage right on their doorstep.”

The restoration project itself has been split into three phases:

Phase 1 - Archeological Archive Centre becoming operational in April 2021 and opening the public July 2021.

Phase 2 - Education Centre, Events Venue and Artisan Courtyard and Outside Catering opening to the public July 2021.

Phase 3 - Restaurant, Bed and Breakfast, Volunteering Hub, Outdoor Play Area and Museum opening October 2021.

Starting in February, there will be monthly updates about the restoration project on the Chester House Estate social media platforms. We are also filming a short documentary which will feature the 10 month build period.
